Ali Moorhouse
“Hi! I'm Ali Moorhouse, a full time Yoga, Yogalates & Pilates Instructor.
Having reaped the benefits of various styles of Yoga over the years and established a regular practice, I qualified to teach therapeutic yoga in 2020 with Deyna Devi in Kendal. In a Physio appointment a few years ago I was advised to incorporate Pilates core and glute strength exercises into my regular practice. I was so impressed with the results I decided to take it further and embarked on a Yogalates course with Beth Morgan of Yogalates London and have been teaching this highly effective fusion class in Lancaster for the past couple of years. In June 2025 I also qualified to teach comprehensive matwork Pilates with APPI. My favourite pieces of equipment these days are the Pilates soft ball and resistance bands to strengthen and tone the whole body - perhaps you’ve spotted me walking round the city with them! My classes are suitable for beginners and all levels as we always work progressively. I’m so inspired by the integration of practices from the East and West and cannot wait to share the joy of Yogalates with you!”
Yogalates
Tuesday’s 12.30pm & 5.15pm
Yogalates combines the most effective mat-work Pilates core-strengthening, muscle toning and posture focused exercises with Yoga stretches and breathwork to promote physical and mental wellbeing. Classes are progressive (to suit all levels) and often include blocks, the Pilates soft ball and resistance bands to support you and your unique body. Suitable for all ages and a wide range of abilities, even those with existing injuries. It is particularly beneficial for back pain sufferers due to its focus on core strength, pelvic stability and alignment.
A typical practice often includes supine exercises to strengthen the core, side-lying movements to strengthen the gluteal muscles, posture enhancing sequences, balance work and much more!
Yogic stretching and breathing techniques are an integral part of the practice, helping to rebalance the nervous system and relieve stress; calming the mind and aiding in the health of the whole body.
